Rally for Children’s Safety 25 May DVD

Follow the link below to view footage of  The Rally for Children’s Safety, held on Parliament House Lawn, Canberra on May 25, 2011. The Rally for Children’s Safety was attended by many who support changes to the Family Law Act to better protect children and victims of domestic violence (DV). Speeches were made by: Cat Gander, Women’s Refuge Movement; Richard Spencer; The Benevolent Society, mothers who fear for their children’s safety (veiled to protect their identity for legal reasons); author and DV survivor Helen Cummings; Chris Bourke & her Yarramundi Kids puppets giving voice to children’s concerns. You can now endorse the key messages for the rally online here.

Support from a diverse range of agencies concerned with the safety and wellbeing of children and families will be of great assistance in the campaign to make safety a priority in family law.

Endorsements will be added to the website. Following the rally, delegates from the alliance and associated organisations will present the endorsements of our key messages in a series of meetings with federal government.
